A swan has allegedly died from a broken heart after teenage vandals killed her unborn cygnets.
Last month a group of teenagers threw rocks and bricks at the eggs of a Swan mother in Bolton, Greater Manchester.
The Swan mother was found dead this a week and the father had gone missing.
As some onlookers have said, the heartless vandals shot at the swan nest, and unfortunately, 3 of the six eggs were broken.
To add to the suffering of this swan, she had been attacked repeatedly by other creatures, such as dogs, hens, and ducks.
Two weeks ago the father, who was struggling with stress was driven off the nest.
Experts explain that they undergo the same grievous process as humans when they lose their loved ones.
A representative from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) said: “This is a truly sad development and hearing about the death of this poor swan is very upsetting.
The previous distressing incident is being investigated and we would urge anyone with information to contact our appeals line at 0300 123 8018. Swans, their nests, and eggs are protected by the 1981 Wildlife and Countryside Act.
